Serial #E5350, 7.35mm Carcano, 22" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves.This is a 1939 dated rifle that retains 92-95% of the original blue finishe with silvering and fading along the high edges, projections, and at the muzzle.The Italian Terni, and later added Finnish Army “SA" stamp, are both crisp and clear at the receiver, and the bolt has an overall pewter gray patina.The matching numbered stock and handguard have scattered minor handling marks and blemishes in the original oil finish, and an olive green canvas sling is fitted.Additionally, the rifle comes with a correct, folding bayonet that has an excellent, re-blued blade which has turned a pale purple-brown patina over time.This is a fine-excellent WW2 Italian rifle that was used by the Finns in their war against the Soviets. The M-S is a good cartridge, but is now probably more difficult to find than Carcano ammo (which is made by PRVI).

This was done in the Terni arsenal between 1922 to 1928 or 1929 and stamped on the barrel next to the original manufacture date. That seems to be a Fucile 91/41, probably reworked post-war (hence the discrepancy between butt and barrel numbers), sporterized and rechambered to 6.5x54 Mannlicher-Schoenauer with British civilian proof for use as a hunting rifle. I've read after WWI a lot of M91 rifles were cut down to carbine length and designated the M91/24. I want to restock the rifle and doubt very much I can find a used original.

Italian Model 1938 Carcano Short Rifle with Bayonet I have a carbine length Carcano, It was made in 1918 in Rome. Someone cut the front of the stock I guess attempting to sport it up a bit and looks bad due to the large hole left for the cleaning rod.
